From the Palm to Hatta
One good day, driven properly, is worth more than three cars in the driveway.
Start on the Palm while the light is still low. The road out of the city is ordinary; the point is to be clear of it before late morning. Fuel before you leave the last large station. Do not count on a charming one in the mountains.
The Hatta road is well made and it is still a mountain road. Summer heat is the real constraint, not the asphalt. Water in the car, a hat, and a plan to be back on the flat before you are tired.
If you want the landscape without the driving, the same route works with a chauffeur and a different car. An open spyder is a joy for an hour and a poor idea at noon in August.
